Does Urban Combat Compete in Competitions?
Yes. Urban Combat athletes compete under WTKA GB at national and international level, including the WTKA Unified World Championships and the WTKA British Open Championship. In 2025, five Urban Combat athletes competed at the World Championships in Italy, bringing home three medals — including a World Champion title — and the squad won 10 medals at the British Open in Chesterfield.
Is Competition Compulsory?
No. Competing is optional and open to students who choose that path, at a level appropriate to their grade and experience. Many Urban Combat students train purely for fitness, confidence and self-defence skills without ever entering a competition.

Who Do We Compete Under?
Urban Combat athletes compete for Team GB under WTKA GB, the governing body for these competitions in the UK. Team GB selection sessions have been held at Urban Combat's Ipswich venue.
